  • Dunkirk Hero

    Wed 07 Mar 2018

On Wednesday, Criftins brothers Ross, Ryan and Aaron (and mum) attended a very  special ceremony in Wallasey. It was to unveil a riverfront memorial on Seacombe Promenade to recognise their great uncle’s bravery in the Second World War.

Their great uncle, whose name was Jack Potter, has been named a Battle of Britain and Dunkirk hero and his brave actions were the inspiration behind scenes in the recent hit film Dunkirk!

Jack Potter was one of the pilots flying Spitfires during World War II and was responsible for helping to save 200 service personne from HMS Basilik when it was sunk during the Dunkirk evacuation in 1940.

The ceremony was featured on BBC news and you can watch the full clip in the link below. See if you can spot any familiar faces!! https://criftins-ce-primary-school.primarysite.media/media/world-war-2-hero

Congratulations Kit! Last weekend, Kit was playing in the Oswestry Music Festival. On Saturday, he played a drum solo and won 3rd place! On Sunday, he played in his families band and came 1st place! We are all very proud of his success. Such a talented boy - and he’s still only 5 years old!

This little superstar made my day today. Have a look at the video resource centre to hear him reading his own story and even correcting himself as he goes. I am impressed!
  • The Hard Back Hide Out - a place to chill with a book

    Wed 07 Feb 2018 MJones

We are delighted that Mr Reincke has worked so hard to complete our reading outdoor  area The Hardback Hideout . He has engaged our local business  ADT Carpets in Ellesmere and with the generosity of the manager Danny we have been able to carpet the whole area.

A huge thank you goes out to Dean and Lee for coming to fit the carpet today, it really is a special place for all our children.

We are so so grateful for the generosity of ADT Carpets  in Ellesmere for gifting this to the school. What a wonderful community for our children.

I just hope hope I don’t get found having a nap in there 😉.

Shoes off children, we now have a posh hideout!

  • ROAD CLOSURE - Important Information

Sun 17 Dec 2017 Julie Smith

We have a road closure on the route to school which will affect us from 18th to 21st  December.   With this being the case we need to put in an informal one way system   for those three days.  Please see the map attached and share with all.

Parents will be able to park at the front of school but will need to follow the BLUE        route on the map avoiding the closure.

Can we please ask that caution is taken whilst the road is closed and to keep your speed to a minimum.  Please be mindful of other road users including pedestrians on the approach to school.
