What has been happening in school? Have a read 😊
What a fantastic display of creativity and individual expression! Wow! Thank you everyone for getting involved and to the PTA for the idea and refreshments. What a way to start this half term.
Thank you to all our families for their generous Food Bank Donations, our Ambassadors did a super job of dropping them off today. It is wonderful to see all the brilliant work that is being done to support families in these challenging times.
Our first intra- school competition of the year took place yesterday, the children played hockey in their house teams: Ireland -St Patrick, Scotland -St Andrew, Wales - St David and England - St George. The matches were fast and furious with the children putting into practice the skills they have learnt during PE this half term.
Results will be announced in our next Sports Assembly!
Our team of children from Years 4, 5 and 6 took part in an inter school Ten Pin Bowling competition in Shrewsbury.
We were so thrilled to have a live Zoom meeting with mega-selling children’s author Ben Clanton, who writes the much-loved Narwhal and Jelly series. We were allowed to ask questions and see inside his personal notebooks to get a peep at what’s coming up. One project he has just started is about a cloud called Ploof; the next narwhal book is going to be Halloween-themed. It was fascinating to see these ideas in their very early form. He even drew one of his trademark cartoon narwhals while we watched. What an amazing opportunity for his fans here. And what a lovely, generous man.
It is time to get a little bit creative with your pumpkin this half term. Bring them into school on Monday 31st October to share with the school and parents/carers. Can we create a Pumpkin Gallery for our friends, PTA will be there after school with Tea and Coffee to start the term off in style. Prizes to be won!
Have a look at the photos from some ideas.
What a fabulous end to the week as we were entertained by a visiting Theatre Company. Tom, Dan, Suzette and Elspeth travelled to see us and share singing, acting and performing. With a link to our Religious Education through stories of God’s work, it was such fun and so exciting !
Our Year 5 and 6 boys are enjoying their football at lunchtime. We run a free weekly club for the Year 5 and 6 boys on Wednesdays and on Fridays the girls along with Year 3 and 4 boys have their own training session.
Class 3 and 4 on the Daily Mile track.
