Criftins Church of England Primary School

Summer Term 2026

This half term, Shrewsbury Town Foundation's Coach Neil is coming into Class 4 to encourage them to mix football and reading together. Coach Neil is bringing the children some great football highlights videos and then working with them to complete comprehension pieces, based around football, before heading out to the field to practice their football skills and some matches. This week, we were even joined by one of Shrewsbury Town's mascots - Amber!

Forest School this week included lighting fires, making dens and some relaxing hammock time too!

Queensway 2026- a wonderful day spent doing athletics. Y5 girls and Y5 boys came first in the relay competition, and Criftins achieved 2nd place overall.

We had a wonderful visit to a Gurdwara in Telford this week as part of Multicultural Week. We had such a warm welcome and learnt so much about the Sikh religion. We were also provided with a hot meal on arrival which was delicious (Langar).

London 2026! Have a look through the photos to see what we got up to. We ticked off a lot of sightseeing!

End of SATS celebrations! Ice cream, games and fun on the field!

Full bellies and raring to go! SATs, we are ready for you!

As part of our heritage day in Oswestry, we were privileged to visit Llwyd Mansion, where the children took part in clay tile workshops and lime plastering as part of the ‘Llwyd Mansion: Framing the Future’ project. We learnt about how historic buildings were constructed and how they are carefully preserved today.

Exploring our local town, Oswestry. As we walked around the town, we discovered how Oswestry has changed and grown over time. From the castle to the timber framed buildings and Victorian houses, we spotted clues from different periods of history all around us.

A visit to Oswestry Town Museum- so much to see and learn about. We loved it!

‘Book Buddies’ to start the new term. The children love meeting with their book buddies to share stories. ❤️
