Criftins Church of England Primary School

PE and Sport Premium

Criftins CE Primary has, this year 2018/19, again achieved the Gold School Games Mark, this means that we are able to work towards the Platinum Award for 2019/20. However due to COVID-19 we have had to carry on this goal over 2020/21. Please follow the link below for updates on all the School Games Team competition results.

2017/18 is the third academic year in which the GOLD School Games award has been achieved.  Read below some of the comments about our ever growing offer of sport.  We have been through a rigorous external moderation process this year and this is the feedback.

The validation highlighted that the school was offering a very strong sports programme across all areas of the award, including:

The school offers a wide range of sports to their students, competing in 8 at Level 1 and 14 at Level 2. For the 2018/19 academic year.

The sport offer is supplemented by the schools Sport Organising Committee who plan and develop School Games activity within school.

The school promote the School Games to parents and the local community via the website, school letters, the school app, noticeboard and the achievement assembly which is attended by parents.

The school utilises students to help lead, manage and officiate in School Games activity.

The school trains wider school staff to support the delivery of school sport and physical activity and are looking to utilise coaches to enhance this development in the 2018/19 academic year. The school should be proud of this application and the evidence collated as part of the process. Well done on your award, and good luck planning and delivering 2018-19.

Please follow the internal link to the 'sports events' section of our website to see how the children have been doing when competing locally.
