Phonics Test on Friday 10th February 2023

Every week, we will also be doing a phonics test. This is to remind the children to use their phonics in their writing and to help remember which sounds are in certain words. Do not worry about writing spelling sentences at home. Or spending significant amounts of time practicing- we just want to ensure they are remembering to use their phonics consistently. Please also keep practicing the common exception words when you can. 

The two phonics sounds to practice are ee and ai. Please learn these two sounds in words such as those below. The children could be asked 10 of these words. Phonics is so important for reading and writing, especially in preparation for the End of KS1 assessments in May. Many of them will already know these and may not need to practice.
