Welcoming some special visitors!

Our final Art piece. We have developed our skills throughout the term to create our final Great Fire of London scene.

Look at our fantastic World Book Day Costumes! As we know it’s hard to get a good photo of 27 children so please have a scroll through the many taken 😁

Art: Painting Tudor Buildings using only black and white

Science: Investigating whether materials can change shape by bending, squashing, twisting and stretching

Outdoor fun!

WORLD BOOK WEEK: Live storytime and sketching with Michelle Robinson and Tom Knight- When Fish Finger Froze

WORLD BOOK WEEK! Live storytime with Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler.

Outdoor provision in the Spring sunshine ☀️

Art: Using mixed media (black and white) to sketch Tudor Buildings. We used 2B pencils, biros, pastels, chalk, handwriting pens etc...

Outdoor provision and Geography

Science: Investigating the suitability of materials. Are the buildings waterproof?

History: Baking bread with Be Happy Cakes! We put on our Thomas Farriner hats to bake like he did in 1666 (but with less fire!)

Art: Examples of the artwork that we are using to help develop our own style

Art: Experimenting with a variety of strokes and styles on the page using black, white, yellow, red or orange. We are developing our ability to recreate flame and having the freedom to make mistakes.

Art: Warm up- Listening to different music genres and seeing the impact it has on our lines, swirls, dots and other movements on the page.

Picture Book Study- Courage Everyday: The story discussed having butterflies when doing something new so we wrote our worries in a butterfly and talked about how we can overcome them.

Children’s Mental Health Week- We have drawn our emotions, taken part in Cosmic Yoga, made feelings trackers and created our own worry monsters.

Year 1 Maths: Understanding and building numbers 11-19

History: Identifying The Great Fire of London on a timeline.

Art: Recreating flame using strokes and swirls
