Criftins Church of England Primary School

Worship Team

Our worship team is a group of children who actively promote and also lead worship in school whether that is in class, collectively in the hall or occasionally outside. Prayer and worship are part of every day life in school, we enjoy meeting together, taking some time out to think and reflect on our life together. Being a good role model is a vital responsibility as part of the Worship Team. We ensure that we are demonstrating positive behaviour and attitudes that reflect our school’s values and ethos. We really want to be a community who puts others first and makes a difference, following in the footsteps of Jesus.

Our roles as part of the Worship Team are helping us to develop our skills in leadership, communication, commitment, empathy and organisation which will positively benefit us as we continue to grow in our community.

Our current value for this half term is FORGIVENESS and we look forward to leading worship.

Meet the 2023/24 Team!

The worship team delivered today’s worship about our value of perseverance. They acted out Aesop’s fable of the hare and the tortoise.

The worship team made posters to use in collective worship. The window is for looking out, the mirror for looking in and the door is for looking ahead. This is how owe structure our collective worship sessions.

The worship team worked with Miss Evans to plan and lead a Remembrance Service. We invited the community to join us. Many people commented on how moving it was, especially when the children read out the names of local soldiers who never returned home.

Whole school worship- introducing the new value for the half term; respect. A beautiful worship about Jesus’ sermon on the mount.

Our last class worship for the value of friendship. We listened to ‘I am a friend of God’, reflected and discussed actions we could all do over the next couple of weeks to be a better friend. Thank you worship team for your time in preparing and delivering another special worship.

Collective worship planning with the team using the window, mirror, door analogy. Thinking ahead to next half term.

The wonderful worship team led their first whole school worship today. It was fantastic! A warm welcome into the hall, followed by the story of Zaccheaus and a chance for pupils to reflect. The prayer at the end was beautifully written too. What a brilliant start to the year! We are already looking forward to the next one.

The worship team leading class worship this morning. A special time to come together and reflect.

Federation Collective Worship training with Vickie Longson. Lots of great ideas for pupil led worship.
