The children took part in javelin, seated ball throw, speed bounce, target throw , standing long jump and a variety of team and individual running races. The results were: 1st Criftins, 2nd Cockshutt, 3rd Gobowen and equal 4th to Weston Rhyn and Welshampton schools.

This is an opportunity for the children to compete in an intra school competition which is part of the School Games Award and means that all children have the chance to take part in a competition. Final results will be announced and celebrated in our half term Sports Celebration Assembly!

Our High Five Netball played at the Marches School, winning all of their first round matches scoring a total of 16 goals. They went on to the trophy round where they won one game, drew one and lost one which meant they finished in 3rd place behind Whittington and Bryn Offa. They displayed some great netball skills and teamwork and fully deserved their placing!

Our second meeting for the Sportshall Athletics at the Marches with Year 5 and 6 children took place last night, the events were Standing Triple Jump, Vertical Jump, Javelin and the over under relay race.

Sportshall Athletics. We entered a team in this competition for the first time this Spring, it consists of 3 consecutive weeks where 2 boys and 2 girls from Years 5 and 6 compete in a variety of field and track events. This week they had chest push, standing long jump and relay races, next week there will be standing triple jump, vertical jump, javelin and an over/under race. We finished the first round in 3rd place out of 9 schools!

Our Basketball team went to the Marches this week to play in an inter-school mixed competition where they played against 7 other schools.  They finished in 2nd place after the first round winning 2 matches and losing one which meant they qualified for the trophy final where they also won two and narrowly lost one.  The result was 1st place to the Meadows, 2nd to Bryn Offa and Criftins were 3rd which meant we took 1st place in the Ellesmere cluster - great achievement!
