Comments by parents/carers:

  • We could not have asked for a better start to our children' academic life.   Thank you for everything.

  • It is vital that poor and disruptive minor behaviour (on occasion) continues to be challenged and parents must be responsible for their child's behaviour.

  • Thank you so much for what you have done to support the children and families during COVID-19

Comments by parents/carers:

  • Staff are very supportive when my child has been upset.

  • Our children are very happy and settled at Criftins, we are so pleased by the wonderful progress they are both making.

  • Children could be encouraged to drink more water as many parents often say they come home with full water bottles.

  • Overall very pleased our children are a part of Criftins School.  They are happy to come to school and really enjoy it.

  • Another great year at Criftins, thank you to everyone involved.

  • Sometimes my child will inform me that a group of children have been disruptive again. It sounds like it is a common occurrence in class, however I do appreciate this is dealt with by the teacher.

  • “I am absolutely delighted that the start my daughter has had at Criftins; I couldn’t have asked for anymore.  She loves school and has NEVER not wanted to attend.  When she returns home she has a smile on her face when retelling the day.  The opportunities provided on a daily basis are superb – swimming lessons every year and music lessons not to mention the varied after school clubs and forest school.  All of the adults that have taught my daughter have shown such a care and passion for their job and the school.  A wonderful school [Symbol]”.

  • “I feel that the focus on SAT’s is not always helpful, especially when comparing the current Year 6’s to last year’s Year 6, the current Year 5 or indeed another school.  I appreciate it might be said as a way of encouraging / motivating pupils, but it may have the opposite effect on some children”.

  • “My children started Criftins School in September 2017. The children and myself love the school.  My eldest was a bit behind in her old school but since coming to Criftins has made an excellent improvement in all lessons.  Great staff, great school.”

  • “Please remember to put information on the school APP or email if putting bits on Facebook – not everyone uses Facebook”.

  • “With regards to the slightly lower agreement in 10 & 12 there have been times in the past where decisions have been made without some consultation with the parent, when it would have been nice to know pre-decisions made.  However, I know that we can make appointments with the relevant teachers, and they make themselves readily available at short notice which is a credit to the staff at the school.  With regards to the support of our child’s learning the school is very active in providing opportunities for parents/carers to attend meetings/events with regards to the curriculum – big thank you – but, we do not hear a lot about our child’s learning until parents consultation, whether this is because we are fortunate with our child, I am unsure, but would hope that learning or behavioural issues would mean that we would be approached at more regular intervals in order to address any problems”.

  • No comment made for Question 9 as not experienced or heard any other child/parent complaining of bullying.  From our experience of the school to date, we don’t doubt bullying would be dealt with quickly and effectively.

  • “A lot of the time there are communication issues.  News etc. is sent home via email, APP (This doesn’t work), newsletter, Facebook or by the child and is a bit of a muddle!  As a parent who doesn’t constantly access their phone I do miss out on some information because I’m not on the Facebook Group!!  I appreciate trying to cut waste with paper but sometimes my child is not properly prepared for his school day and I am left feeling very disorganised.  Otherwise the school is amazing!!”
