What has been happening in school? Have a read 😊
The time has come to say goodbye to our amazing Year 6s. What a week it has been.
We started with a brilliant trip to Challenge Point in Chester followed by a McDonalds lunch which was such a treat. Then came our leavers’ service at St Matthew’s Church, where every child stood up and spoke so confidently and proudly about their memories of Criftins. They sang their own lovely version of Your Song and we had three whole school songs too which really made it feel special.
A big well done to Ivy who was awarded the Rosemary Horton Award and to Macsen who received the David Evans Sports Trophy. We are really grateful to the Mothers’ Union and the Rotary Club as well who kindly gave each child a Bible and a dictionary to take with them. Thank you also to Reverend Gareth for blessing each of the children.
To finish it all off we had a pizza picnic on the field on their last day. Thank you to the PTA for organising the pizzas, it was the perfect end to the week.
We are so proud of you all Year 6. You have been brilliant and we will miss you but we cannot wait to see what you go on to do next.

Thank you to this Year 6 pupil who gifted school with a new bird feeder. Look out for it near the breakfast club/afterschool club door.
A lovely legacy to leave behind as they move on to secondary school.
Mrs Williams came to visit us this morning to let us know about the summer reading challenge. To sign up visit your local library.
This afternoon with the help of PTA we awarded our House Point winners with Afternoon Tea. What a wonderful way to spend time celebrating our Team effort. With Sponge cake, chocolate brownies, cookies and squash, music and games, it was tasty and fun !
A huge thankyou to one of our parents who loaned us two fabulous work colleagues to put up our PTA Shed. This shed looks fabulous and will be used for our Active Travel Bikes and scooters.
We had a lovely morning watching pupils perform a variety of talents.
Orienteering, today, at the Marches finished with an amazing win! Our Orienteering team took part in the 3 phase competition to complete in first place - this was a wonderful finale to another great year of sport.
Well done to the team!
Friday night was a great gathering of families and the community for our PTA fundraiser. With live music, stalls, food and a Licensed bar there was something for everyone. A huge thankyou to staff, families and to our PTA for supporting this event.
This week we are delighted to receive acknowledgement and an Award for our contribution towards Active Travel. With your support school has encouraged a more active lifestyle and approach towards getting to school.
Thank you for joining us each Friday at the Working Men's Club for Walk, Scoot or Bike to school.
Thank you SO much for everyone who came to help us with our community clean-up day this week. Our playground had a much needed spruce up!
