What has been happening in school? Have a read 😊
I hope you have been enjoying the sunshine this week, it is great to get outside.
I am particularly pleased with the year 6 group this week. They have completed some 'pearls of wisdom' art work to be enjoyed in the peace room in September. We are glad they will leave little memories behind for all the other children.
Super well done to two of our pupils who have continued with their instrument tuition online - WOW. They have both achieved certificates this week which I have added to our photos. Super effort girls, you have shown such great perseverance.
Have a look to see if you feature in this weeks lineup!
Have you entered the competition featured on the news feed (see below) or spent sometime cooking one of Margarets flapjacks? Have a look on the 'cooking club' at home on the video resource library.
Here's a smashing new competition from Mrs Hedley that anyone can enter.
Create a landscape, or design of your choice.
Use natural materials from your garden, or windfall things you find when on a walk. Petals, feathers, twigs, seeds and leaves.
You can arrange and rearrange your collage, until you are happy with the finished design.
Once you have taken a picture, your creation can be recycled back into the garden!
Well done everyone another week of super effort. Some of the images of what you have been up to on home learning are certainly diverse! We look forward to a day when we can all chat about this as a distant memory.
These pictures certainly made me smile. Keep working hard everyone, we will back and buzzing round our super school before you know it.
Are you among this weeks super learners?
Well done Jonah Durham for entering the Tensar competition, we are very proud of you.
“Thank you for your recent entry in your ‘Transport for 2120’ schools competition! We are very excited to tell you that the entry has been selected as the winner for the age category 4-6 years!
We think the entry showed great initiative and creativity as well as considering important environmental factors. The judges thought this was well deserving of the prize so congratulations.”
Jonah has also won two hundred pounds in book vouchers for school! WOW!
This show that you should always work hard and have a go as hard work reaps rewards.
I am sure you agree that his entry is fantastic.
Here is a little memory game that Mrs Hedley has made for you. Look carefully at the first picture (put the slide show on pause). Then, when you're ready, click to the next image where you'll find some questions to test your memory.
How did you do? Try it on other family members. Whose memory is the best?
What a wonderful array of work going on across our community, we are so proud of each and every one of you. Have a look to see if you are chosen for your superstar work this week. We are so glad that even with the changes we have had to make to home learning, you are still working super hard! Are you growing in independence yet? How about you create your own timetable of work next week and share it on tapestry or seesaw to give other children some ideas.
You can also look on the lockdown videos to see how one young lady made a beautiful window display.
Well done everyone.
Our value for this term is perseverance. This value has been demonstrated consistently over the last two months by this young man. He has worked with his mum to complete the couch to 5k, and today, they did the final run of the programme round the school lanes.
He has shown how to work through all the highs and lows of an idea and see it through to the end. He has also completed a range of other challenges in addition to this to work towards buying a device to support his learning. The best feeling of joy comes from when it is well earned - enjoy the moment my star of the week. My next question is what will be your next challenge?
