    Thu 25 Oct 2018

Be Creative in our Big Draw, 2018.

Following our winning success in 2017 we decided to re enter the Competition this year in 2018. Our theme this year is ‘City’.

Together as a whole school we will be working together to create our own cardboard city. Follow our journey as we progress through our day by viewing our photographs below.

  • Look how much we raised for the NSPCC!

Wed 24 Oct 2018 Mrs Long
We had a special assembly to celebrate the pupils raising £1321 for the NSPCC. This amount will pay for a volunteer to be trained to staff Childline for a year, and during that time as many as three hundred desperate children could be helped! We are very proud of the students’ efforts, and extremely grateful to families and friends who supported them as they did their sponsored activities. It is wonderful to think of young people helping others in such an enthusiastic way.

  • Raising money in aid of Indonesia crisis

    Fri 12 Oct 2018

Today (Friday 12th October), we had a non-uniform day and a cake sale to raise money to help the people in Palu, Indonesia following the devastating impacts of the earthquake and tsunami which struck on the 28th September.

The children in Class 3 were in charge of running the bake sale which took place at break time. They did a fabulous job at serving the customers and dealing with the money. Each cake was 30p and the range of cakes for the children to choose from was fantastic! We were overwhelmed by the quantity of cakes that were donated and also by the enthusiasm that's been shown by everyone around school today.

  • Visit from NSPCC.

    Tue 09 Oct 2018 G.Rushton
A huge thank you to Sally from NSPCC who came to talk to our school today about ways to keep safe and happy. Following the age appropriate presentations Sarah talked about ways we, as a school, could help raise money to support the charitable work of the NSPCC.
  • Wonderful feedback from Lakelands Academy after the Y6 taster day on Friday - well done year 6!

    Mon 08 Oct 2018 M.Jones

I just wanted to let you know how brilliant your students were on Friday, from both Criftins and Cockshutt. They were excited, polite and conscientious, a pleasure to have with us. Lakelands teachers  complimented throughout the day on how well behaved and lovely they all were.

There was a real buzz around the school on the day and all the youngsters filled the place with happiness and enthusiasm.

They were a credit to you and their parents and I hope that they enjoyed the day as much as we all did.

We hope to see them back with us soon.

  • Big Draw Festival AWARD Winners!!

    Mon 01 Oct 2018 M.Jones

We had a wonderful day on Saturday at the Walker Art Gallery in Liverpool collection our ‘Big Draw Festival’ award for the best Primary entry. This is a global award with eight categories. We met a teacher from Australia and another from Prague.

We were truely delighted and surprised to find out we won based on our work last October. My thanks go to Mrs Hardwick and all the staff, Ms Barmer and Mrs Harris (Both Parents) for all their hard work and above all the children for their creative spirit. One of the team said ‘I enjoyed your video so much mainly because the children really looked engaged throughout the whole day’. The Arts  Leaders played a terrific part in the planning and delivery of the day too.

We wish we could have taken everyone on Saturday, maybe we should if we win again!

This is Year our Big Draw Festival will be rolled out across our Federation and Community. We can’t wait!! We will be holding it on Thursday 25th October on both sites, watch out for more information
