What has been happening in school? Have a read 😊
This morning Year 5 and 6 visited the Parish Hall for their coffee morning.
We sang a variety of Christmas songs and hymns, performed readings and poems and played instruments.
It was a big success and the audience thoroughly enjoyed it!
‘Safer Schools’
Congratulations to Criftins C. E. Primary School on maintaining the ‘Safer School’ accreditation. The school was first accredited a ‘Safer School’ in 2006 and in November 2019,  Mrs Jones held an annual ‘Safer School’ meeting to update the school’s involvement in the security/safety initiative. At the meeting, we reviewed security/safety measures, updated an action plan and refreshed the incident reporting process. Reassuringly there had been no recorded incidents since the previous meeting in 2018. An essential element of this initiative involves communicating with governors, staff, pupils, parents/carers, Police, Council and this is reflected by the school holding an annual meeting, parent/carer surveys and newsletters. I was particularly impressed by the hard work of Mrs Jones in preparation for the Safer School meeting and a future annual meeting is scheduled for Autumn 2020.

Children came into school today wearing odd socks! It is okay to be different!
This was to show our support to anti bullying. We understand that wearing odd socks will not stamp out bullying but it shows that we are supporting reducing bullying in our community and the change starts with us!Â
Give someone a smile, pay someone a compliment, ask if someone is okay. These small gestures can build up to a big change in how someone is feeling.
Today we began a brand new week with a collective worship all about Anti-Bullying. Our discussion and presentation focussed on the way in which all of us can help, support and be a good person. Sometimes without realising the little things we all do can help others to feel good about themselves. Anti-Bullying week is a determined focus for all of Criftins pupils but also a national initiative to raise awareness of bullying.
