‘Safer Schools’
Congratulations to Criftins C. E. Primary School on maintaining the ‘Safer School’ accreditation. The school was first accredited a ‘Safer School’ in 2006 and in November 2019, Mrs Jones held an annual ‘Safer School’ meeting to update the school’s involvement in the security/safety initiative. At the meeting, we reviewed security/safety measures, updated an action plan and refreshed the incident reporting process. Reassuringly there had been no recorded incidents since the previous meeting in 2018. An essential element of this initiative involves communicating with governors, staff, pupils, parents/carers, Police, Council and this is reflected by the school holding an annual meeting, parent/carer surveys and newsletters. I was particularly impressed by the hard work of Mrs Jones in preparation for the Safer School meeting and a future annual meeting is scheduled for Autumn 2020.
