What has been happening in school? Have a read 😊
We had a great day at Thomas Adams, Wem today with a group of children taking part in Flag Football. They spent the morning learning the different skills and played matches this afternoon putting it all into practice. The event was organised by Louis Gray, our SGO, and run by the PE staff along with the Year 9 sports leaders.
After months of collecting bottle tops our wonderful Mandala Land Art Project involving all the school was completed. What an incredible project organised by Mrs Lucy Hoos and delivered by talented artist Kate Raggett. The pupils had such a fantastic time and they are so proud of their final piece of art.
The children took part in Football Cricket today.
Today we welcomed Kate to begin the first stages of marking out our design and pattern for our Mandala. Year worked enthusiastically shaping the sheep’s wool and following the design . Tomorrow the whole school will be involved in adding all the thousands of bottle tops collected over the past few months.
Football Mini Golf today, the children had to make an obstacle for the pairs to dribble a ball through.
The sun was shining on us today for the 3rd day of National Schools Sports week - football handball was the activity today!
Class 2 have been looking at the book ‘You Matter’ in art this term and they have looked at who they are as a person. They have talked about their likes and dislikes. Their final piece was to create a 3D model that represents themselves and who they would like to be. As part of this, they decided to have an art gallery where the rest of the school could come and look at their final models. The Class 2 pupils sat to the side and the other classes were able to guess who had made each model. They discussed their art with their peers and received so many lovely comments. Well done Class 2!
Football Athletics and Cricket today!
Each class has started National School Sports Week playing a game of Football Rugby today.
