What has been happening in school? Have a read 😊
It was great to talk to these wonderful children about their learning today. Â All four of these children spent lots of time in the hub during lockdown during the summer term. Â All of their parents are key workers.Â
Â
I had a great time catching up with them all, talking about their achievements, what they need to work on next, and their areas of study this term. Â Our curriculum is led by Geography at the moment and it was great to see lots of map work. Â One young boy could explain to me all about where the school was in relation to his house on a map, and he is only 5!
Â
Keep up the good work children I am delighted to see you are still working hard. I wonder who the random pupil selector will pick next week.Â
During these difficult times it is hard to fathom that on top of COVID many families are still battling with Cancer and a whole range of other conditions. Â At the end of this month Mrs Phillips and her family will be stepping out to make a difference for personal and community reasons. Â
Please see below a little note from Mrs PhillipsÂ
Â
I first started teaching at Criftins Primary School in 1985. Â My children came to Criftins and my husband Fred was a governor. Â In his role as governor he was instrumental in the building of the school hall, which is dedicated to his memory.
He died on 26th September 2005, aged 45 after a 13 year battle with cancer.
The Race for Life 2020 is taking place on 26th September so my children and myself are going to run in his memory on what will be the 15th anniversary of his death.

As a school we are very grateful for the part he had to play in acquiring our school hall. This is a wonderful facility for all our children and the children in the future. Our best wishes are with the family as they step out together on the 26th September.Â

More plants for biodiversity, and a peaceful place to sit. See our solar fountain in action!
Each year brings with it such pleasure as we work together to help our Year 6 make the transition to High School. This year of course has brought with it such unprecedented events which have been a challenge. On Thursday 16th July we say goodbye to our fabulous Year 6 and wish them every success as they move on. Our Year 6 parents will be able to join with us via Zoom at 2pm.

Congratulations to the winner of Criftins' Collage Competition, with this stunning flower collage, using fresh flowers and leaves, pressed and arranged beautifully. I love the way you have thought so carefully about the Mandala style design and use of colour.Â
Thank you to all who entered. It has been lovely to see such imaginative minds at work, using natural and recyclable materials. Very well done all of you.Â
