What has been happening in school? Have a read 😊
Our team of 4 girls performed brilliantly in their individual, acro and vault routines to give us 14th place out of 18 teams. This is a national competition that has teams coming from all over the country so it is a huge achievement for our novice gymnasts, 3 of whom have never competed before at all.
Inter school Cricket took place at Whittington Cricket Club for all our Year 5 and 6 girls last week. The girls had a wonderful morning playing friendly matches against our local schools and all received a Dynamo t-shirt to promote the newly formed Whittington Club. Anyone who might like to join their child please come into school and we can give you the details.
We have arrived at Fenton Manor ready for the National Gymnastics competition- impressive venue!
Today was a huge event and moment in History captured as we joined together in celebration of the Jubilee. All pupils gathered in the decorated hall to celebrate 70 years of our Queen. This was great fun. We sang together our National Anthem and had fun as we ate our specially prepared Jubilee Lunch.
A huge thankyou to everyone who has made this event possible.
Baschurch tennis coach, Tyler Smith, has been coaching Year 4, 5 and 6 children for 5 weeks resulting in the children being able to play matches today. They have made great progress over the past 5 weeks and are now able to play some fantastic rallies.
One of our swimming team has qualified for the Shropshire County Gala, we wish her the very best of luck!
A wonderful final of the Cross Country Competitions with 3 of our team winning medals - great team running from you all!
Thank you to all our runners from the past 4 meetings, your scores would all have gone towards the Criftins’ team, also many thanks to the parents who have transported the children to the events and got rather wet last night!
"What a lovely bit of news in the midst of gloom," a man called cheerfully across the car park of the Parish Pump. It was smiles all round.
Four of our children, the two Arts Ambassadors plus two supporters, were busy decorating the BT boxes on the main road through Dudleston Heath. Under the direction of local artist Liz Toole, plain white walls were gradually transformed with purple and gold borders, regal crowns and stately swans, a royal oak and a cheeky corgi.
It can be challenging to paint outside on a windy day but the students worked intensively and with great care for hours. Their emerging pictures attracted much comment, with villagers coming up one after another to say how much they admired the decorations and how the jubilee emblems would brighten the area. The children were, in turn, encouraged by the compliments, and focused even harder on the job.
When they finally laid down their paintbrushes, I don't think any of them could believe how much had achieved in such a short time. From their early, tentative sketches in the hall, they had a created bold and striking piece of public artwork for everyone in Criftins to enjoy.
Well done to our young artists!
We have had 5 children take part in the swimming trials to compete in the Shropshire County Junior Schools’ Swimming Gala.
