World Bee Day is when Beekeepers all over the world, raise awareness of the importance of looking after and keeping Bees!
Two of our young artists drew Bee pictures today, and shared their interest in these hardworking pollinators 🐝. “Be your very best” said our Year 2 nature enthusiast!
More information can be found on the National Trust Website, where you can find ideas on Bee friendly projects and gardens to visit.
12 children took part in the Start Archery and Shropshire Schools Archery Festival today and were lucky to be taught by volunteers from Croesowallt Archers and had a demonstration from Max Oakley who is a 14 year old archer on the GB team pathway.

It was wonderful to see the whole school working together on a project created by our wonderful PTAs. Making bunting triangles for our forthcoming Meresedge Music Festival. A huge thank you to everyone involved in this exciting project.
Don’t forget to purchase your tickets from reception.
We have been lucky to have had Kat Jones, who is a student teacher at Cockshutt School and played as goalkeeper for Wrexham, to give some of our children great goalkeeper tips today. They had a 40 minute session and hope to have her back soon.
Wonderfully talented local artist Liz Toole spent two afternoons working with our Arts ambassadors. They were creating ideas for the Jubilee decoration of the BT box in the village.
Our KS2 Cross country team ran an excellent 2nd leg of the cluster competition at the Marches School, we had some great results which will go towards individual and whole school final scores.
We had a wonderful day with our friend Martin Phillips from Historic England looking at the Heritage Action Zone in Oswestry and how we can build more of our work in Geography and History around this Border Market Town. We are looking forward to getting together with all the experts to plan our Autumn Term unit of work in June. We are also really excited about working with other schools so lots more children in our area have a growing understanding of our local area. I love that Miss Evans (our history lead) and Mr Phillips inspire us all to dig deeper into what is on our doorstep. We really benefit from long standing partnerships in our Federation.
We had a fantastic first Cross Country event at the Marches School, it was great to see so many children from our area being out and able to compete again.
Criftins' children did brilliantly and we look forward to the next 3 meetings.
Today was our first day of the summer term and Year 4, 5 and 6 children took part in their Outdoor Learning session on the school field. The children were split into their year groups and will cover a selection of subjects throughout the term - Science, PE, Geography, French, Outdoor Adventurous Activities and Art, finishing with a story at the end of the session.
