‘Safer Schools’
The involvement of Criftins C. E. Primary School in the ‘Safer Schools’ initiative is first class!! The school recently held its annual ‘Safer School Group’ meeting, attended by staff, governors and myself representing Shropshire Council. The Police normally attend but were unavailable and sent their apologises. A thorough meeting, covering all aspects of the security/safety process. This included a pro-active approach to security/safety, consultation with parents/carers/pupils, reflecting on any school issues and planning for the future. It was a really positive meeting with good contribution by all those present. In addition, Mrs Jones highlighted quite a number of small but worthwhile changes that she had implemented since the Safer School Group meeting in 2017. Overall, an excellent example of ‘Safer School’ involvement - well done to Mrs Jones, governors, staff and pupils! A future meeting will be held during the Autumn term 2019.
