  • When Maggie came to visit

Fri 20 Sep 2019 Mr. Rushton

After many, many months of organisation, Criftins has finally managed to have a Dog in school every Thursday afternoon! Our latest project is to work closely with an organisation called ‘Pets as Therapy’. This organisation recognises the importance of building nurturing and caring attributes within humans but also the importance we should all be placing on Well-Being and Mental Health for all.

Today Jenny and her Labrador dog, Maggie visited us in school to work with some of our pupils. We hope to be able to continue the project so that ultimately all pupils have the opportunity to work with Jenny and Maggie.

Well done to our team of Y5 pupils who attended the maths challenge morning at Oswestry. We are very proud of them.
  • Summer Success

    Sat 14 Sep 2019 M.Jones

These children have made the most of every opportunity this summer by completing the Summer Reading challenge in Ellesmere Library and then many went on to run the Ellesmere 2K (or Marshall the run) during the bank holiday weekend.

Life long learning and embracing opportunities, well done children for challenging yourselves and well done to all the parents/carers who encourage you!

We would like to thank Ellesmere Library for running the challenge again this year and to Paul Davies and his team for organising the Ellesmere 2K & 10K in our area, both such successful community events!

  • Look at our beautiful library pillar!

Thank you so much to our amazing quartet of Criftins artists - Mrs Reincke, Mrs Barmer, Mrs Waring and Mrs Harris - for these stunning panels. We're sure you'll agree, they really liven up the library space. How many children's fiction characters can you spot?
  • Computer Club Success

    Tue 02 Jul 2019
After a wonderful set of computer sessions pupils today were able to showcase their projects to visiting parents and carers. Pupils have been developing the skills of using Python Computer Code to write their own programs. It was great to show the programs created and also for pupils to receive graduation certificates.
  • The sun is out!

    Thu 27 Jun 2019 M.Jones
Walking bus today reminded me of how beautiful our school setting is. Long may the sun shine for pond dipping, forest school and enjoying our willow teepee.
  • Children are magic!

    Tue 14 May 2019 M.Jones
Found this on my desk today from a Reception pupil. The multi link is his ‘message drone’. Put a huge smile on my face!

    Mon 13 May 2019
What a great way to start each day, an early breakfast! This week we welcome all of our year 6 pupils for Breakfast Club followed by their daily SAT’s tests. Our first test today was the Grammar, Punctuation and Spelling Test. As always our year 6 pupils worked to the best of their ability. We are all so very proud of you.
  • Just Smile!

    Wed 08 May 2019 M.Jones
There is something so special about a child’s picture. They see the world in a truly unique and fearless way. The children in class one have been very creative this week exploring living things. So have a look and see if your grin reaches ear to ear by the time you finish ! Be creative 🙂
  • Exercising our brain.

    Wed 10 Apr 2019
Today we welcomed back Sasha for day two of our Mindfulness training. Mental Health and Well Being is so important especially in the busy world we all live in. Throughout the day each year group will have time working with Sasha followed by staff training this evening.
