  • Year 5/6 Mixed Tennis Festival

    We joined Moreton Hall to take part in a tennis festival held at Oswestry School, organised by Louis Gray, SGO.

    The children spent 2 hours practising their ball and racquet skills with games and mini matches.

  • The first session of Craft & Create with Miss Suckley & Miss Evans

    We had a fabulous time at Craft & Create last night creating snails, caterpillars and bees. We will be doing a range of crafting and art activities over the next few sessions. There are still a few spaces left! 
     

  • Our Final Day of Futures Week

    Today we have celebrated our wonderful week with a presentation by each class of who they want to be when they grow up and what they have taken from this week. It has been lovely to hear about the fantastic careers goals from Nursery up to Year 6. 

  • Day Four of Futures Week: Careers Fair

    This morning was fantastic! We had so many amazing people in to share their careers with the pupils. They brought all manners of things with them to demonstrate what they do or how they do it. We thank each and every one of them for giving their time! 

  • Day Three of Futures Week

    We welcomed Jayne into school this afternoon to share about how she started to work for TNS and what she does within her role. She gave the children the opportunity to be a coach and to practice using their loud voices to give instructions. Thank you to Jayne for coming in.

    Today Classes 3 & 4 had a teams call with Henry who shared the story of his career and the different roles that he has had within radio. The pupils asked him questions and even gave him feedback. We really are enjoying futures week so far!

  • Day One of Futures Week

    Today was the beginning of such an exciting week and it started with a bang! We welcomed Louis Gray and he shared his football journey with the pupils. We completed some physical activities and took part in a Q & A. Questions included who the best footballer he’s played against or with, which team was his favourite and many more. He spoke about not giving up and how there will be bumps in the road of any career but perseverance is key. He definitely gave us some Monday morning energy!

     

    This afternoon saw Classes 1 and 2 having a session with Paramedic Andrew and Nurse Kelly who shared all manner of key facts about their careers. They also ensured that the children left the session with some super important first aid facts as well as the numbers to call for an ambulance in the UK, Europe and the US. The children loved volunteering to have bandages put on or to have their arms put in a sling. Finally, Class 2 had the opportunity to ask questions and practice using some of their kit. 
     

    Additionally, Class 3 walked to St.Matthews Church this afternoon where they met with Reverend Gareth who shared lots of key information about his role in the Church.

  • KS2 SATs Week

    We are so proud of our Year 6 children who have been doing their SATs this week. They have approached each test with a fantastic attitude and not a single complaint. They’ve been well-fuelled each morning by Mrs Cavell’s legendary two course breakfasts – including cereal, croissants, pain au chocolats and pancakes! Thank you Mrs C!!
