What has been happening in school? Have a read 😊
We had a visit from the charity team at TNS. Not only did they kindly bring us some free tickets for matches, but they also brought along Ozzy the lion and Ffraidy the dragon for us to meet.
Years 1 and 2 have been enjoying the lovely sunshine by spending as much time as we can outside. We’ve been sketching daffodils, climbing, completing our RE and Geography learning, playing with the LEGO and many more exciting things! We look forward to continuing with our outdoor learning and provision.
Years 1 and 2 took part in a wonderful live storytime with Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler today! Axel read the Smeds and the Smoos before sketching the characters for the children to see his excellent illustrations. Julia read Tiddler and Axel also sketched the characters from Tiddler too! The class will be having a go at sketching their own Julia Donaldson characters during the week. We are excited to take part in two more live sessions this week as part of our World Book Day Celebrations 🤩
A huge thankyou to Moreton Hall High School for inviting our Year 5 pupils to a superb Art Exhibition and undertaking two wonderful Art Workshops. Moreton Hall very kindly provided a fully funded event including transport which was incredible. Starting off with the opportunity to interact with a huge collection of art work, models and sculptures followed by laser cut 3d model designs and making and finally water colours and screen printing.
Today we hosted our annual KS1 Athletics event at Criftins, four local schools joined us for a morning of field and track events. Our Year 5 pupils did an incredible job running their stations: timing, scoring, demonstrating and encouraging the competitors.

Today was Safer Internet Day. The focus was Too good to be true? The tech team led worship this morning and introduced the focus. The pupils discussed what a scam is and how to ensure that you are keeping yourself safe when you are online. Throughout the day the team spoke with each class individually and each class spent some time exploring the focus.
Today we have held our Year 3 and 4 Inter House Dodgeball competition, the teams have had a great afternoon competing against one another resulting in a win for Ireland, second was Wales, third was England and fourth went to Scotland.
A huge thank you to our hard working PTA who sourced and assembled our newly purchased Scooters. This grant is about linking healthy lifestyles and using both bicycles and scooters within school. As the weather improves we hope to encourage them to be used for travelling to and from school. PTA did a great job today, all the scooters needed unpacking and fixing together. Lots of fun for all !
