What has been happening in school? Have a read 😊
Every Thursday we get together to find out about current affairs and items in the news. Our Y6 pupils use a wonderful resource from the Picture News team and present the items to the whole school. This is an important part of developing critical thinking, considering events, activities and also our own point of view. Each week a different team of Year 6 present the News and of course time for singing, reflection and prayer.
This week we received wonderful news from Arts Council England with the announcement that Criftins CE Primary School has been recognised at the Highest Level by being awarded with a Platinum Standard ArtsMark.
ArtsMark is a nationally recognised award that celebrates high quality art work and cultural education. Artsmark Awards reward school for championing arts and culture across and through the curriculum. A huge achievement. Well done to pupils and staff !
As we bring together our closing thoughts of this term, former pupils and present pupils of Criftins gathered at our local church. St. Matthew's Church has always been a huge part of our community and it was wonderful to gather together for singing and readings. Thank you to all those staff, pupils and adults who made our evening together extra special. Merry Christmas to you all.
Thank you so much to the children for their wonderful performances, and to the adults who have supported them. Particular thanks to Mr. Jones for coordinating the event.
We are busy rehearsing our Christmas performance. We hope to share it with you on Thursday afternoon or evening.
See you there!
We were thrilled to have a fly-past from Santa this lunchtime. We all waved madly!
Tay, from the Marches Academy, joined us today to teach 12 of our children Playground leadership. Their role will be to help to organise fun activities at lunchtime for our younger children.
We had an amazing time at Packwood today playing Kwik Cricket with 3 other schools. The children practised their catching, throwing and batting skills- they all improved and had great fun at the same time. Many thanks to Darrell from Shropshire Cricket for running the event and the Year 7 pupils from Packwood for helping our children.
Criftins Primary is supporting the School Games National Santa Dash which returns for another fun-filled day of festive fun!
Can we smash last year's total of close to 80,000 young people taking part?
As in previous years, the Santa Dash is all about having fun whilst being active. Schools can choose the distance that best suits their pupils and can take part at any time during that day.
4th place at the Year 5/ 6 Badminton today at the Marches!
