To celebrate World Book Day 2024 on March 7th, Criftins is holding a competition to redesign the cover of your favourite book. Classes 2-4 should also include a short blurb on the back, explaining why you like the book so much. You can use felt tips, colouring pencils, paints or collage - whatever medium suits your ideas best.
Entries need to be completed by Monday March 4th and handed in to Mrs Long. There will be a £10 Amazon voucher as a prize.
Today we welcomed Jenny Davies from Ellesmere Rotary Club to talk to our pupils about two wonderful initiatives for all of us to be involved in. One of the initiatives is a special certificate award for being a Rotary Star.
How could you become someone that helps to do things in the community - This would be our special Do-Good-Ery Certificate. Pupils today talked about different projects or tasks that they could organise and do to help others. Our second very special certificate is for Sporting Achievement. What sports events or competitions are you taking part in that could be acknowledged through The Rotary Club.
Today in Class One we have been doing lots of activities about Chinese New Year! We have learnt that it is the year of the Dragon and also the children have learnt which year they are. We have had lots of fun! 🐲
Today is the start of Children’s Mental Health Week. It was lovely to all get together this morning to be reminded of the importance of looking after our mental health. The theme for this year is ‘My Voice Matters’.
My Voice Matters is about empowering children of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities to work together to create a positive change for their mental health and wellbeing by providing them with the tools they need to express themselves.
Children’s mental health week is also a great opportunity to revisit 10 a day for mental wellbeing and to look at how we can all actively promote our own wellbeing as well as supporting and encouraging others to do this too.

What are you going to do this week to prioritise your mental health?
A team of 4 boys and 4 girls from Year 4 went to the Marches to play in our cluster Dodgeball tournament. They had a very busy morning playing a total of 9 games against some very strong teams!
