Criftins Church of England Primary School

Sports Summer 2025

Criftins School Sports Day was an afternoon for the whole school from Nursery to Year 6, the children took part in field and running events competing for their houses, all showing determination, teamwork, passion, respect and self-belief -well done everyone!

Class 3 played scatter ball rounders this week as part of our half termly inter-house in school competition!

A group of Year 5 and 6 children took part in another tennis event at Oswestry School where they practised their racket skills and played some mini fun games. This event was kindly organised by Louis Gray, our SGO, to help encourage and improve tennis skills and is part of the “60 minute active” in school.

National School Sports Week

This year marks 30 years of the Youth Sport Trust, and they are making it bigger than ever!

National School Sports Week is calling on schoolsfamilies and organisations to get involved, host the UK’s biggest ever Sports Day, and champion 60 minutes* of PE, sport and play every day to help all young people be Always Active.

60 minutes active is so important to us at Criftin: this week we have extra lunchtime activities on the school field, run by Miss Onley, tennis and cricket coaches in school, sports afterschool clubs, sports day practice and a visit to Oswestry School to play tennis.

There are resources on the Youth Sports Trust for families to register and access-
