Criftins Church of England Primary School

Sports Spring 2026

We welcomed Jayne from TNS along with Ozzy and Ffraid to come into Collective Worship today to promote and engage our children in physical activity. The children have also all received complimentary match day tickets for the rest of the JD Cymru Premier Championship Conference season!

One of this term’s PE focus is Indoor Athletics, Years 3, 4, 5 and 6 take part in speed bounce, standing long jump, standing triple jump, vertical jump, javelin and 5 strides. They work as a team by recording, timing and counting to show improvement in their physical fitness and ability over the Spring half term.

So great to be able to get back out onto the Daily Mile track on a sunny day after so many weeks of rain, snow and ice!

Another fantastic result for our Year 3/4 Dodgeball team who came 2nd today by winning 9 out of 12 matches.

The team got better and better as the competition went on - our morning Wake and Shake Dodgeball sessions have proved to improve their throwing and catching skills, contribute to the children's general fitness and a healthy lifestyle.

Congratulations to our Year 6 Dodgeball team who competed at the Marches School along with 12 other cluster schools.  They won all their matches bar 1 and tied for 1st place in their pool.  The number of players left in each match are recorded and they missed the finals by 1 point allowing Whittington School to go through against Woodside.   Well done to our team!
