What has been happening in school? Have a read 😊
It was wonderful to meet with our families and local community ar St. Matthew’s Church. With crafts, drinks, food and activities there was something for everyone to do. Perhaps the most poignant event was walking together along the lane and carrying a large cross. The cross was then placed at Hill Park where we gathered for our Holy Service. Thank you to all those who attended and made today a special event.
The gardens were wonderful and showed such levels of creativity and care. All entrants received a small prize and a mention, and several children had a special mention. Congratulations to all!
Congratulations to Wales for being the winning house this term! This morning they have been on their House Point Treat to the British Ironworks and completed the Extinction Trail. They have seen superheroes, animals, minions, transformers and many more different amazing sculptures! They had a great time despite the rain ☔️
Congratulations to our KS1 gymnastics team who brought back the trophy for the 3rd year running! Our 8 children from Years 1 and 2 competed against 11 schools to win having performed a floor and a bench routine which they had all learnt.
It was wonderful today to see our first Easter Garden Models being brought into school. On Friday we will be awarding prizes and all models will be taken to St. Matthew’s Church to be put on display over the Easter Holidays. Look at our wonderful collection now as the week has progressed. May I say a huge thank you for all your support in helping to make this a worthwhile and special Easter Community project.
Class 1 and 4 had a great afternoon using the climbing equipment in their PE sessions today. They were able to explore climbing, swinging and jumping.
We welcomed 4 schools to Criftins today to take part in a KS1 Indoor Athletics competition where they took part in field and track events along with 2 teams from Criftins.
1st place went to Criftins Red and Criftins Blue finished in 5th position.
Many thanks to the Year 6 leaders who did an amazing job running the stations.
Today was a great day as we opened our doors to welcome our parents and carers. This was an opportunity for our parents and carers to spend time in school working with their children and accessing all areas of school. A huge thank you to everyone involved in making today such a special and memorable day.
Our cross country runners are well on the way to completing their 12 miles in school(87 laps of the Daily Mile) in readiness for the final 1.1mile on the 20th April at the West Mid Showground.
