Cricket Intra-School Competition 6th July 2018. The children competed for House points towards their summer term treat, a great afternoon of sport resulting in 1st place Emerald, 2nd Ruby, 3rd Diamond and 4th Sapphire.
Shropshire Homes School Sport Festival 3rd July 2018. The culmination of the children's commitment and hard work resulted in Criftins sending 2 qualifying teams to the Shropshire final to represent North Shropshire in New Age Kurling and Boccia. They had a wonderful day experiencing Ballsports' Football cage, a boxing experience and a fun bouncy obstacle course. Then for the serious stuff! The Kurling team won all 5 of their first round matches to put them in the play-off for 1st and 2nd place. They were narrowly beaten 2 ends to 1 but finished in a very credible 2nd place out of the whole of Shropshire which was brilliant. The Boccia team also played really well and after a tense final round finished in 9th place. Both teams contributed to the overall North Shropshire result of 3rd place which was terrific. The teams all demonstrated the School Games values of respect, teamwork, determination, honesty, passion and self-belief.
We had a wonderful opportunity to go to Manchester City Football Academy on Friday. The facility is the best training facility in the world and so it was an amazing experience for the children to play a tournament on the indoor climate controlled pitch. We had a combined Criftins/ Cockshutt (Mere's Edge) team and an individual Criftins team. All the children played incredibly well and the Criftins team got through to the knock out round which was a great achievement. The combined team made it through to the final where the score was a draw and so the match went to penalties. A nail biting end to a great tournament with the final score 3:2 to Market Drayton.
