Rev. Simon Airey - Foundation Governor
"I am the Vicar of Criftins, Dudleston, and Welsh Frankton. Besides looking after 3 churches my life is taken up with an amazing wife, a delightful little daughter, two disreputable rescues dogs, one rather plump cat, a bunch of chickens and a motorbike. The local vicar is automatically on the governing body of a Church of England School. My role is to encourage a Christian Ethos and positive spirituality within the school and also to offer pastoral care to the school community. My own school days weren’t the happiest and my real desire is that Criftins children will wake up looking forward to another day at school".
Mr. David Davies - Foundation Governor
Term of Office ending 5th May 2019
"I am retired Headteacher. As a hands-on grandparent I am actively involved, not just at Crifiins, but I also go in one day per week to work wherever I am needed. This year I have been working with reception and Year 1, and supporting numeracy with a Level 6 learner, which is my area of expertise. I play golf, run quizzes and am Churchwarden and actively involved at St Matthew’s Church. I travel and enjoy visiting new places, especially if they involve seeing my children and grandchildren. With my experience as a Headteacher of a small rural Primary School, it seemed a good opportunity to support my Church school and work in my community. I am interested in Education as well and committed to the idea of broadening opportunities for all children. I am the Link Governor for Maths and Chair the Health and Safety Committee. I enjoy visiting the school and providing support wherever I can".
